About Us

The Way of Grace

A Bible-based community in Sutherlin, Oregon where every believer discovers their true identity as a saint—not a sinner—and grows in the grace and freedom found in Christ.

Our Mission

Growing in Our True Identity

At The Way of Grace, we want to grow and walk in our true identity as saints in Jesus Christ. We believe every believer has been given spiritual gifts to love and serve the body of Christ, building each other up toward maturity in Him.

Our love for Christ and His creation compels us to share the Good News of Jesus with a lost, confused, and dying world. We delight in encouraging one another as we learn to live out our new identity as saints, resting in the finished work of Christ.

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come."

— 2 Corinthians 5:17

Our Vision

A community of believers who delight in being God's children, growing together, and serving one another in love. Where no one is bound by empty religion—only the freedom and grace found in Christ with no condemnation. (Romans 8:1)

What Sets Us Apart

We teach identity-based Christianity. You are not a sinner trying to become a saint—you ARE a saint who sometimes sins. Our focus is on who you are in Christ, not what you do to earn God's favor.

What We Believe

Statement of Faith

The core beliefs of The Way of Grace are rooted in Scripture and centered on the grace of God through Jesus Christ.

The Holy Scriptures

We believe the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments are the inspired, inerrant, and infallible Word of God. They are God-breathed, the final authority for faith and life, and the complete revelation of His will to mankind.

2 Timothy 3:16–17 • 2 Peter 1:19–21 • John 10:35 • Isaiah 40:8

God the Father

We believe in God the Father, who reigns with providential care over all creation for His glory. He is Father to all as Creator (Ephesians 4:6), but spiritual Father only to those who trust in Christ (Romans 8:14).

Ephesians 4:6 • Romans 8:14 • Psalm 145:9 • Matthew 6:9

God the Son

We believe Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God who became fully man without ceasing to be God. Conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, He came to reveal God and redeem sinners through His death and resurrection.

John 1:1, 14 • Philippians 2:5–11 • Colossians 1:15–20 • Hebrews 1:1–3

God the Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, regenerates, indwells, and seals every believer. He empowers, teaches, and guides Christians daily, setting them apart for holy living.

John 14:26 • John 16:7–14 • 1 Corinthians 12:12–13 • Titus 3:5

Salvation

We believe salvation is a free gift of grace, received by faith alone in Jesus Christ—through His blood, death, and resurrection. All who call upon Him are forgiven, justified, reconciled, and born again as children of God.

Ephesians 2:8–9 • Romans 10:9–13 • John 1:12 • 2 Corinthians 5:17

Our Identity in Christ

We believe every born-again believer has a new identity. You are no longer a sinner by nature, but a saint—a new creation in Christ. You are the righteousness of God in Him, free from condemnation (Romans 8:1). Christ Himself lives in you, working to transform and fulfill you. This is the good news of grace!

"For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them." — Ephesians 2:10

Romans 8:1 • 2 Corinthians 5:17 • Galatians 2:20 • Ephesians 2:10

Satan

We believe Satan is a real, personal being—the originator of sin, the enemy of God and His people, and the temporary "god of this world." Though powerful, he is defeated by Christ and destined for eternal judgment in the lake of fire.

Genesis 3:1–15 • 1 Peter 5:8 • Revelation 12:9–10 • Revelation 20:10

Future Events

We believe in the "blessed hope"—the imminent return of Christ to gather His church. Following a seven-year tribulation, Christ will return visibly with His saints to establish His millennial kingdom. Unbelievers will be judged at the Great White Throne and cast into eternal separation, while believers will be eternally in the presence of the Lord.

Titus 2:13 • 1 Thessalonians 4:13–18 • Revelation 20:11–15 • Revelation 21:1–4

The Gospel

The Good News of Jesus

The Problem

"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."

— Romans 3:23

"The wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."

— Romans 6:23

The Hope

"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life."

— John 3:16

"If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."

— Romans 10:9-10

What This Means

You cannot get to heaven by good works, baptism, or religious effort. Salvation is a free gift of grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone.
